Sid Neigum

Sid Neigum is a Conceptual, interdisciplinary womenswear label, the namesake of a mathematician by nature and a designer by nurture. Originally from Edmonton, Alberta, Toronto-based designer Sid Neigum is an experimentalist aiming to develop new silhouettes, shapes, ideas and feelings through fashion design and other mediums. The brand’s raison d'être is to challenge convention and question tradition. Neigum expresses an idiosyncratic vision inspired by avant-garde club culture, street fashion, music, contemporary sculpture, math and architecture while maintaining a singularly dark esthetic.

Winner of TFI's New Labels Competition 2012 and the inaugural Suzanne Rogers Award for Most Promising New Designer 2012, Neigum's other accomplishments include completing the Fashion Design and Apparel Production program at MC College, winning the Emerging Designer Award for the Spring 2010 season at Edmonton Fashion Week, receiving Nextfest's Emerging Artist Award, completing an internship under designer Yigal Azrouel, and attending the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York City. Since the launch of his career, Sid Neigum has participated in many renowned fashion events including the Fashion Coterie, Western Canada Fashion Week (F/W 2010), The Montreal Art and Design festival (August 2010), Vancouver Fashion Week (S/S 2011) and in Toronto at World MasterCard Fashion Week since 2011.
