Spring Summer 22 -
Eudon Choi
For his Spring Summer 2022 Collection — O Sol Nascente (The Rising Sun) — EUDON CHOI transports us to Rio de Janeiro, where the colourful favelas, vibrant street markets and effervescent carnivals form the rich setting for this laid-back- luxe high summer offering. As a continuation from Resort, the Spring Summer 22 collection continues its journey celebrating our sense of communities and joy for life. The inspiration for this urban take on the Brazilian culture comes from the film Black Orpheus (1959), in which we are transported to a festival celebrating the rising sun.
A joyous energy can be felt throughout the collection, with sparks of lime green, lavender and tangerine accenting the neutral hues of earthy brown and sand. Fabrications of crisp cotton, cool linens combine with explosive floral prints inspired by indigenous botanicals and elegant stripes in off-white linen and rich tonal browns. This season, EUDON CHOI’s signature tailoring feels lighter and more care-free, a reflection of a more laid-back approach to living as we emerge out of global unrest. Summer-weight knitwear accents the collection, providing effortless pieces ideal for layering while having a late dinner on warm summer nights — something that we're all longing for. The statement dresses and sculptural separates are inspired by voluminous carnival dress and present a playful femininity and sense of celebration. Continuing the studio’s journey in reducing their environmental impact, where possible organic, natural and recycled fibres have been consciously selected to be considerate to the natural world, the people who bring the collections to life and to the people who will wear and cherish the pieces in their wardrobe.
