Spring/Summer 23 -Shushu/Tong
“Beautiful women outshine in sight; their beauty can be a sharp weight to bear.” This quote from philosopher Longinus draws the designers’ musing.
Perhaps the woman is Betty who charms in Betty Blue by striking an impression without notice in her lingerie; she could be the socialite Holly in Breakfast at Tiffany’s who wanders the streets of New York City in the shining aura of jewelries; she may be Séverine from Belle de Jour who seeks thrill amidst the mundane.
Pursuing an intention of critical reflexivity, this collection delineates the corporeal sensuality of their existence without concealing the internal landscape of their desires. The embodying subject doesn’t reciprocate the gaze of her witness. In her committed leap of faith, she strives towards self-futurization.
